Pilgrims of the Way

Music & Stained Glass Artistry by Sister Diane Couture, SSJ

Expressions of Faith Through Music and Art

Music and art have a unique way of drawing us closer to God, expressing what words alone cannot. Just as sunlight passes through stained glass, revealing a tapestry of color, music touches the soul, bringing faith, hope, and prayer to life.

Through her musical compositions and stained glass artistry, Sister Diane shares her gifts as expressions of faith and spirituality. Each melody and work of art offers an invitation to pause, reflect, and experience God's presence, reminding us that creativity is a gift from God that inspires, uplifts, and connects us to the Divine.

Pilgrims of the Way

Pilgrims of the Way is a prayer set to music by Sister Diane. It follows the pilgrim's road through every season of life, through joy and sorrow, darkness and light, with God's love carried before us like a lantern.

Inspired by this spiritual journey, Sister Diane has also designed and handcrafted stained glass pilgrim figures, bringing the message of her music to life through art. Together, her music and artistry reflect the beauty of faith, companionship, and our shared journey toward God.

At its heart is a quiet invitation to the Dear Neighbor: “You need not walk alone.”

Stained Glass Artistry

Sister Diane's handcrafted stained glass pieces reflect not only her faith and creativity but also her deep connection to the historic grounds of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Incorporating locally gathered materials, including sand and coquina from St. Augustine and the Motherhouse campus, her artwork brings together the natural beauty of this sacred place with the spiritual inspiration behind each creation.

These unique pieces will be available for purchase at the Father Miguel O'Reilly House Museum. Each offers a lasting reminder of how light, color, and the very earth beneath our feet can reflect God's presence in our everyday lives.
