St. Joseph Neighborhood Center: The St. Benedict the Moor Schoolhouse was built in 1898 with funds donated by Sr. Katherine Drexel, later canonized as Saint Katherine Drexel. The Sisters of St. Joseph operated and taught at St. Benedict the Moor from 1898–1964. Today, this historic building has been restored and serves as the home of the St. Joseph Neighborhood Center, continuing the Sisters’ legacy of service to the community.
