Virtual Stations of the Cross
Welcome to our Virtual Stations of the Cross, a prayerful journey through the passion and death of Jesus Christ, guided by photos of the beautiful carvings in our Motherhouse chapel in St. Augustine, Florida.
For each station, you'll find a reflection question, and a closing prayer to walk with Christ on His path to the cross. May this devotion bring you peace and renewal this Holy Week. Begin the journey below.
Station I
Jesus is condemned to death.
Reflection: Have you ever been wrongfully judged? Have you judged others without knowing their full story? What would it take to release that judgment and find freedom?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station II
He is made to bear his cross.
Reflect Some burdens go beyond everyday struggles — anxiety, grief, and pain can feel impossible to carry alone. What is weighing on your heart right now? Are you allowing Jesus to help you carry it?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station III
He falls the first time.
Reflect We all stumble on the journey — failure is part of being human. Where have you fallen along the way? What helped you rise again? How has your faith carried you forward?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station IV
He meets his mother.
Reflect Has your mother given of herself sacrificially for you, as Mary did for Jesus? Have you taken time to appreciate her love and her gifts? And if she has fallen short — have you offered her forgiveness?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station V
Simon of Cyrene is made to bear the cross.
Reflect Who has stepped in to help carry your burdens along the way? And do you feel called to do the same for others?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station VI
Veronica wipes Jesus’ face.
Reflect Who has shown you compassion in your life? Do you pass that gift forward to others?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station VII
He falls the second time.
Reflect Have you found yourself falling into the same pattern more than once? Can your faith give you the strength to choose differently going forward?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station VIII
The women of Jerusalem weep over Jesus.
Reflect Who stands in your corner when life feels impossible? Who has offered you comfort and encouragement when you needed it most?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station IX
He falls the third time.
Reflect The struggle is real — for all of us. What patterns of struggle or sin do you find yourself returning to again and again?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station X
He is stripped of his garments.
Reflect Have you ever been stripped of your dignity or made to feel ashamed? How has that wound shaped the way you see yourself? Let faith be the ladder that lifts you out — and takes back the power given to those who hurt you.
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station XI
He is nailed to the Cross.
Reflect Have you watched someone you love suffer, feeling helpless to ease their pain? When there is nothing left to do, do you turn to prayer — trusting that God can reach where you cannot?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station XII
He dies on the cross.
Reflect Have you sat with someone in their final moments, or felt the deep ache of losing someone you love? Grief is its own kind of cross. Are you allowing yourself to heal — and trusting that God walks with you through it?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station XIII
He is taken down from the cross.
Reflect Mary cradled her son in her arms, devastated yet unbroken. In your own moments of helplessness, can you follow her example — showing up for others with both strength and gentleness?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station XIV
He is placed in the sepulchre.
Reflect Joseph of Arimathea tenderly laid Jesus to rest — a quiet act of devotion and respect. How can his example inspire you to show that same reverence, both to Christ and to those around you?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Station XV
He rises from the dead.
Reflect Though the suffering is over, Jesus rises bearing the marks of what he endured — a lasting reminder of his sacrifice and love. Through his resurrection, he offers us salvation and forgiveness. Is there someone in your life you have yet to forgive? Can you follow his example and offer that forgiveness now?
Prayer We adore you, Christ, and we praise you — by your holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, your passion and death is the sacrifice that unites earth and heaven and reconciles all people to you. May we who have faithfully reflected on these mysteries follow in your steps and so come to share your glory in heaven where you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN
Closing prayer adapted from Fr. David Scotchie for Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood, Florida, 2021
